As we all know that the examination dates for classes 10th and 12th students have already been announced officially by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the year 2024. The CBSE Board Exams 2024 are starting soon. The Date Sheet can be downloaded from the link http://www.cbse.gov.in or http://www.cbse.nic.inNow, it is the right time for the students to hit the final stroke of preparation for the forthcoming CBSE Board Exams. Everybody knows that the Board exams for classes 10th and 12th will commence with effect from 15 Feb 2024. So, this is the best and appropriate time for revision. Board students should make a comprehensive planner to finish the untouched topics and revision of learnt topics. There is no need to take tension or any type of stress at this time. This is the right time to focus and concentrate on studies. At this time, students should make a Time Table/ Planner to prepare unsolved/ untouched topics and revise all other topics. At this time, Board students should make short notes on every subject in the form of pointers which can be elaborated during exams. This method is very very effective. First of all, they should focus on NCERT books and after that should practice Sample Papers, Previous Years Solved/ Unsolved Papers, Practice Papers, Support Material, etc. In English, students should focus on Grammar and Writing Skills as these are very scoring parts of English.  Instead of learning all literature questions, they should focus mainly upon summaries of each and every lesson. In case of Poems, they should not only learn the Names of Poems/ Poets  but also focus on the Poetic Devices like Simile, Alliteration, Metaphor, Personification, 'Rhyme Scheme, etc. Average students should first focus only upon NCERT books including examples and exercises. If a student is sincere enough towards studies then he/ she can practice Sample Papers and Previous Years Papers additionally. Intelligent students can focus additionally on extra reference books/ refreshers like RS Aggarwal, RD Sharma, etc. The important tips for Boards Exams are given below.

11.       Take atleast 7 hrs sleep.

12.       Early morning learning is the best practice.

13.       Say No to Stress.

1.    Prepare atleast 12 hrs time table of study, 10 hrs learning and 2 hrs revision.  Students should make a time table of atleast 12 hours. The time table should be set in a manner so that they can devote atleast 10 hrs time towards learning and 2 hrs towards revision of what they have already learnt.  They should do learning work early in the morning and practice Maths late at night so that sleep can be avoided.

2.      Make a Proper Plan of your Study.  Divide your time table in 4 periods of 3 hrs each, as per following details:-

(a)     1st Period.  Wake up early morning, may be at 05.30 am. Get fresh, take some light exercise and start your studies from 6:00-7:007:15-8:15 and 8:30-9:30 am. It is pertinent to mention that after every hour of study, you should take a 15 minutes break to refresh yourself.

Take bath and breakfast and watch TV from 9:30-10:30 am.

(b)       2nd Period Start studying from 10:30-11:30 am, 11:45-12:45 am/pm and 01:00-02:00 pm.

Don't forget to do 10 minutes Meditation and at 11:00 go to bed.

3.      Strictly follow your time table.    Students should  follow the time table strictly and study in a focused and concentrated way. They should evaluate/ assess at the end of the day, how  much inputs they have put in and how much output has come out.  It  should  not  be like  this  that  they  are  devoting  one  hour to studies and just learning/ practicing/ revising what can be learnt just in 20 min. Students need to minimize the time gap between input and output.

4.       After an hour of Study, take 15 min short break.    Students preparing for exams should take 15 minutes  break  after  continuously  studying  for an  hour  so  as to  refresh themselves  for  the  next  hour  of  study.  This  is  very  important  practice. This has been elaborated  well  while  preparing  Time-Table  (Point No. 2 above)  because  this  type  of practice  saves  our  energy  and  gives  rest  to our mind in between.   This pattern directly boosts our energy level for the next hour of study.

5.      In free time, watch you tube videos related to your syllabus.  While taking rest, students should watch you-tube videos related to their syllabus. Sometimes, they can watch videos of their interest other than studies so as to avoid boredom. It will refresh them. Instead of being a book-worm all the time, video learning is quicker and easier to understand, but sometimes only. However, going through books is must.

 6.       Drink sufficient water, eat healthy food and take some exercise.   At this time, students should drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water. They should eat healthy food. If possible, all students must devote at 15-20 minutes towards light exercises. All these will directly/ indirectly help them to focus and concentrate on their studies.

7.        What to Study?    At this time, students should not only study NCERT books but also practice Sample Papers like U-Like, previous 10 yrs sample papers, Together With, Exam Idea, etc. They can also study refreshers like RS Aggarwal, RD Sharma, Lakhmir Singh & Manjit Kaur, etc. These books will help them to score good marks.  Average students should focus on conceptual learning by following NCERT books and sample papers. Students should practice at least one sample paper a day. Don't forget to give extra time to difficult subjects. Students can also study Support Material issued by Directorate of Education. It can be downloaded free of cost from the website http://www.edutel.nic.in

8.        Practice  makes a man perfect.    Students appearing for Board exams must practice not only Maths but also other subjects by writing as much as possible because it can be very helpful  while attempting  Board exams.  We all know that practice makes a man perfect.  If we find some problem in solving a question,  by practicing again and again,  we can resolve the issue.

9      Follow early to bed and early to rise mantra.  At this time, all students should follow the Mantra, ‘Early to Bed and Early to Rise makes us Healthy, Wealthy and Wise’. This practice will make them avoid wasting their precious time by sleeping late night and help them to focus on their studies.

10.    Prepare timetable subject-wise.   The time-table should be made by students subject-wise. Its benefit is that all the subjects can be covered  by this method.  Using this way, students can concentrate on all subject simultaneously. A specimen time-table prepared by Mrs Jyoti Sudan, a renowned Educator, Mentor and Teacher having an experience of more than 25 yrs in this field  can be referred as specimen (made for Class 10th), which is as follows:-

11.      Take atleast 7 hrs sleep.  Students should take atleast 7 hrs sleep. Sleeping more than 7 yrs a day is not at all required as the exams are approaching. Otherwise also, more sleeping  makes   us   dull   and doesn't  refresh  our  mind.  Students  should  avoid   late night
sleeping and waking up late in the morning as it is not advisable for board students.

12.      Early morning learning is the best practice. Morning is the best time to learn theoretical subjects. Time duration taken by a student while learning a topic during day time may take about an hour but in the morning it may take just 10 minutes to learn the topic. This is the best time to memorise difficult or theoretical subjects.

13.    Say No to Stress.  Students appearing for board exams should not only take stress about studies but also about other things. It will disturb them and deviate their attention and concentration from studies. They should not take any type of stress about completion and revision of syllabus. Even if students, who have not yet started their studies seriously for board exams, they can also score good marks, if they study in a planned manner. This is a time to study seriously not a time to take stress.
